The short verdict
Dext extracts data from receipts, bills and invoices and publishes it straight into Xero, QuickBooks and other ledgers — a big time-saver for bookkeepers.
Our Dext review
Dext (formerly Receipt Bank, founded in London) reads supplier invoices and receipts sent by photo, email or bank feed, extracts dates, amounts, VAT and supplier details, and pushes them to your accounting software with the original attached.
It is sold mainly through accountants, and many practices include it in their fees — ask yours before buying directly. For businesses with a high volume of paper receipts, it pays for itself quickly.
