The short verdict
ChatGPT remains the Swiss Army knife of AI: fast, multimodal, packed with integrations and custom GPTs, and familiar to almost everyone you will hire.
Our ChatGPT review
ChatGPT is the assistant most UK staff already know, and that familiarity is a genuine advantage when you roll AI out across a team. It writes, codes, analyses spreadsheets, generates images, talks through voice mode and can browse the web — all in one interface.
Custom GPTs let you package a repeatable job — a quoting assistant that knows your rates, or an HR helper loaded with your handbook — and share it with colleagues. Connectors to Google Drive, SharePoint and other tools mean it can work with the files you already have.
For business use, choose the Business (formerly Team) or Enterprise plans, where OpenAI does not train on your data by default and you get admin controls. On the free and Plus plans, switch off training in data controls before using client information. Its default spelling is American, so ask explicitly for British English.
