The short verdict
Gemini is the natural choice for Google Workspace businesses, with AI built into Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Meet, plus a capable standalone assistant with strong research features.
Our Gemini review
Gemini brings Google's models into the Workspace apps many UK start-ups and sole traders already use. It drafts in Gmail, writes and restructures in Docs, builds formulas and tables in Sheets and takes notes in Meet. NotebookLM, part of the same family, is superb for turning a folder of documents into a searchable briefing.
Google has folded Gemini features into Workspace business plans, so many businesses already have access. The standalone Gemini app handles deep research, long files and image generation, and integrates tightly with Google Search for up-to-date answers.
Under Workspace terms, your business data is not used to train Google's models, and Workspace offers data-region controls on some editions. Consumer Gemini accounts follow different terms, so keep business work on your Workspace login.
